The original idea behind the Bedford Register when it was started in 1977 was to form a complete list of all preserved Bedford coaches, buses, lorries, vans, camper vans, fire engines and military vehicles in Britain.
Thirty years on, we are still collecting information, but now we are interested in every Bedford built including its sucessors, AWD and SPV.
But looking back, the Bedford Register was started in 1977 by our current Registrar , David Griffiths

It was promoted and advertisied in several magazines , especially the "BUSES" enthusiast magazine from 1977.
What is it for I hear you ask ?

Well in truth there are many reasons and the main one is to build up individual histories of every Bedford produced. Please remember , they all started as working vehicles.
But there are other good reasons, to identify a vehicle from its registration number on a photo and very important, the record can be used to confirm datas when buying or selling and in the unlikely event of your vehicle being stolen.
At the present time when a vehicle is stolen, a Bedford CF camper in recent weeks in the UK for example and a J pick-up in Australia all we read is a sad note on the internet with no detailed information, with the Bedford Register that weak request for help can turn into a powerful weapon to find the stolen vehicle with thousands of Bedford fans and owners turning detective with all the information they need to solve this crime.
So how do you get your Bedford listed in the Bedford Register ?
TO REGISTER YOUR BEDFORD PLEASE CLICK "REGISTER NOW"
Please do not forget to send the photographs which are essential. These can be sent by email to the dedicated email address for your country listed at the bottom of this page or by regular postal service.
The result will hopefully be the most comprehensive listing of the Bedford marque covering the 59 years of production starting in 1931. There will be many benefits from this Databank and it will be of special interest to those starting out on a restoration project when they require advice, spare parts or other information. I will be able to put them in contact with owners of restored models of the same type.
So finally, thank you for your support in this difficult and time consuming task , every little information helps.
Please send your photos of the Bedford you have registered to the email address dedicated to your country and please quote your name and address otherwise we might not locate your photo. Some days we have a lot of registrations and remember, this is my hobby and I have to work for a living like you !
